REAL LEARNING

INDIVIDUAL LEARNING FOR YOUR CHILD
We work together with you as parents to set learning goals according to your child’s strengths, interests and culture. It’s more than childcare - we make sure every program fulfils the goals of the Early Years Learning Framework and our school readiness plan, but it isn’t a one size fits all solution.

All children learn at a different pace, and we understand that. We also understand that children have different interests and different things that capture their imagination - so we want to embrace every child’s uniqueness while ensuring they have all the skills they need for school.
READY, SET, KINDER - SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM
Our school readiness program is designed to give children the best start to their education. Ready, Set, Kinder gives children all the skills they need to make a successful start at school.

Through our school readiness program, we’re aiming to give children the following skills:

From a young age, children are learning about literacy and numeracy without even knowing it. Almost every daycare activity is an opportunity for children to further expand their understanding of numbers, shapes, communication or words.

We make sure children aren’t pressured, and take a careful approach to teaching vital skills. Just like needing to crawl before they walk, young ones need to develop fine

motor skills before they can control a pencil and write their name, for example. As children get closer to school age, their learning activities are adjusted accordingly.

Our programs and activities are designed to give your child the best exposure to basic literacy and numeracy concepts before they get to school.

EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK

The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is based around children being able to engage in fun learning activities to build the skills necessary to start school with confidence. All of our learning activities and programs are aligned to the EYLF - think of it as the curriculum for early years learning.
THE EYLF HAS THE FOLLOWING 5 GOALS:
  • Children have a strong sense of identity.
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
  • Children are confident and involved learners.
  • Children are effective communicators.
We provide inspiring indoor and outdoor environments for children to explore and play, because daycare should be fun! Our culture of respect and inclusion ensures children feel they belong, which empowers them to communicate, discover, play and create with confidence.

PLAY BASED LEARNING

Play is such an important part of a child’s development, especially in the childcare setting. It’s how they learn to communicate, relate to others, and understand the world around them. When we talk about Early Childhood Education, play is a huge part of that.

Our activities are all about teaching children new skills, providing new experiences, and allowing them to grow into their own identity without fear. Play-based activities are designed to be stimulating, fun and give children the chance to try new things. Children learn best when they’re having fun and feel safe - that’s what we’re all about!

SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SKILLS
Toddlers & Co is like a small family, and a lot of that is based on respect, inclusion and enjoying each other’s company during daycare. These are skills we teach our children on a daily basis through play. From basic self-help skills such as independent toileting, hand washing and taking care of their belongings through to basic problem solving and conflict resolution, we give children the social and emotional skills which make the transition to school so much easier.

Confidence is such a key part to learning, and that’s why we create a healthy childcare environment where children can develop their social and emotional skills. We want our young ones to feel valued, safe and encouraged to participate with confidence.
